Contact: Spencer Fane Britt & Browne LLP (Missouri, USA)

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This will be a practical session where employers can get details on the latest in labor and employment for employers. Employers will get details on how to draft social media policies, addressing

social media complaints in the workplace, and assessing issues raised by government agencies related to social media.

This presentation will discuss the rise of social media in the workplace and in litigation. We will be discussing the increasing use of social media as evidence in litigation both to prove and disprove facts, including the act of social media as a breach of contract. We'll discuss recent laws passed to protect social media passwords and access by employers in Maryland and Illinois. We'll also discuss social media as viewed by the National Labor Relations Board. We will cover how to draft a social media policy and address questions we get from our clients about social media and issues raised in the workplace.
