"The next wave of disruption is gathering pace in the form of a technology that has been named blockchain. In a decade from now we could be wondering how society functioned without it, even though most of us today barely know of its existence. Blockchain is the technology platform on which Bitcoin, the notorious digital currency, is built. This platform uses distributed ledger technology to underpin the authenticity of the transactions that transpire."
