Fun Facts about Siddhartha Havelia
Favorite Food: The street food in Delhi, it’s just amazing.
Do you have any pets? I don’t have any pets, but I would love to have a dog.
When you are not working, how do you enjoy spending your time?
The first thing I do when I get time to spend other than work is plan trips with family and friends. If the time off work is not enough for traveling, I spend it with my kids. I love knowing what goes on in my boys' lives and, more particularly, how they describe it. Lastly, I have a keen interest in spiritualism. After a long day, week, or month at work, doing meditation and self-introspection is my favorite thing to do. Surprisingly, half an hour of meditation can calm the nerves like magic.
A Closer Look at Siddhartha Havelia
What does being an accountant mean to you?
Being a professional is not just about being responsible for oneself but also about how other individuals look at you. It is the acceptance of the fact that you must carry yourself in a specific way so that your team members can look up to you.
You must not focus on becoming a boss but a leader and carry that aura around you. When you are a professional and a leader together, individuals see you a little differently from others; they regard you in a positive light. Being a true professional means standing up to all those expectations and setting the right example for your team..
What is something unique about your firm?
In our industry, I have noticed that other firms and companies often follow a strict hierarchy, and most of the decision-making process is done based on higher management. However, in our company, we have given employees complete liberty to share their ideas and be open with their managers without micromanagement. We maintain transparency in the operations.
Do you have a favorite memory about a TAG Alliances Conference or interaction/collaboration with another TAG Alliances member?
Not really a memorable collaboration, but I think if I had to choose one memory, it would be from the International Conference held in Germany back in 2013. It was the first TAG Alliances conference I attended, and as they say, firsts leave the most impactful mark. The best part about the conference was the after-discussion between the members who shared their own journey over food and drinks. It showed me that business conferences could be fun and lively, too, where individuals can have meaningful experiences.
