What does being a lawyer mean to you?
In the larger sense, being a lawyer provides the opportunity to contribute to society by advocating for my clients and helping them to solve their problems. Working in a profession that demands dedication, ethical conduct, and a commitment to serving the interests of others provides me with a true sense of pride.
What value do you and your firm receive from TAG Alliances membership?
The value we receive from our TAG membership is multifaceted. Not only is it a revenue source for our Firm, but it also provides opportunities for professional development and the ability to establish relationships and friendships with other professionals, globally. The TAG Alliance allows us to better serve our clients with accountable and stable referral resources around the world.

Harper Grey has been part of the local legal landscape for more than a century. With an over 115-year history, our Firm has played an integral part in shaping our province’s laws. With twenty-four former Harper Grey lawyers appointed to various levels of the BC Bench, we continue to be a local legal leader – both in terms of excellence and ethics.
Do you have a favorite memory from a TAG Alliances Conference?
The opportunity to host our TAG colleagues at the Vancouver International Conference in May 2022 is one of my most fond memories. The welcome reception was held at an especially unique venue, the original Vancouver courthouses. At the reception, we served a signature cocktail called ‘The Douglas Fir’ which included alcohol infused with Douglas Fir extracts – one of the most populous tree species in the province. Later in the week, a group of conference attendees attended the peak of Grouse Mountain overlooking Vancouver for an axe throwing activity – it was a memorable afternoon to say the least. Being able to show the conference attendees the charm and natural beauty of my hometown is a memory I won’t soon forget.
