Browne Craine is celebrating reaching its 65th milestone year in business on the Isle of Man. Originally established in 1954 by Ron Browne, Browne Craine has grown from a one-man band to a firm of almost 40 members of staff.
Based at Burleigh Manor on Peel Road, Browne Craine provides a wide range of accountancy, taxation and business advice services for all sizes of companies, with their clients ranging from individual sole traders to large corporations. Their services also include liquidation and insolvency solutions, and through their sister company Browne Craine Associates Limited, a full range of audit services.
The firm, which is led by directors David Craine, Craig Mitchell, Basil Bielich, Lynsey Smith and James Sayle, has enjoyed contributing to the growth of the Isle of Man and supporting the local community over the last 65 years.
One of the main business community initiatives Browne Craine has been focusing on closely was setting up a small business accountancy clinic. With an aim to support local budding entrepreneurs with their accounting and business needs, the idea was to offer those entrepreneurs guidance to streamline those aspects of their business so they can concentrate on what really makes their business successful. Over the last few years, Browne Craine has seen lots of new companies step through its door.
The firm’s supportive culture means staff are also very keen to get involved in helping the local community where they can and have raised money for charity by taking part in various activities including half and full marathons, climbing world-famous landmarks and other sporting activities.
Browne Craine also enjoys supporting other local initiatives which include sponsoring netball premier league team the “Browne Craine Toomraiders”, the Isle of Man Bowls Association, the “Browne Craine Dragons” squash team and the Children’s Centre’s Off-Road Triathlon “Granite Mann Challenge”.
“Reaching our 65th anniversary is such a big milestone,” said David Craine. “We couldn’t have made our business a success without the loyalty of our clients and our staff. Browne Craine has benefitted enormously from the fantastic growth that the Isle of Man has experienced. We have enjoyed working with our clients and will continue to support them in every way we can – we pride ourselves on knowing them and their business. On behalf of my co-directors and all the staff, I should like to thank everyone who has in some way or another helped us to grow. Here’s to the next 65 years!”
