Cohen & Company is proud to announce the following new hires to their northeast Ohio management teams.
Marie Brilmyer, CPA, MAcc (Akron Office)
After spending close to 15 years with a regional accounting firm, Marie has joined Cohen & Company as a director in the Accounting & Auditing Department. Marie helps private companies and their owners work through a variety of technical issues, including accounting for complex debt and equity instruments, purchase price accounting and impairment of intangible assets. She also works closely with not-for-profit organizations and provides consulting services to assist clients with special projects, such as obtaining financing and assisting with sell-side due diligence.
A certified public accountant, Marie serves on numerous committees for both the American Institute of CPAs and Ohio Society of CPAs. In addition, she serves on the board for the Summit County Habitat for Humanity and Firestone Akron Swim Team. She earned her B.S. degree in accounting from Case Western Reserve University and her Masters of Accounting from The Ohio State University. Marie is a resident of Akron, Ohio.
Chris Kerr, CPA, MAcc (Akron Office)
With more than eight years of experience in regional and national public accounting firms, Chris joins Cohen & Company as a manager in the Accounting & Auditing Department. Chris works largely in the manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, and service industries. In addition to conducting audits, reviews and other attest work, he has experience with complex entity structures, consolidations, employee benefit plans, and mergers and acquisitions.
A certified public accountant, Chris is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Ohio Society of CPAs. Chris earned his B.B.A. and Masters of Accounting degrees from Kent State University. He
