TIAG member firm, Burgis & Bullock (Warwickshire, England), is hosting a debate about the UK’s membership of the European Union ahead of a referendum to be held on 23 June 2016.
Prime Minister, David Cameron, recently re-negotiated the terms of the UK’s membership of the EU. The question of whether the country should remain in the EU or leave is now being put to the British people in a referendum. The outcome of the vote will have a profound impact on the UK for generations, affecting business and the economy, society, immigration, and the judiciary.
The issue cuts across political parties and divides businesses and economists. Passions are running high on both sides, but so far there has been little in the way of firm evidence; and with each side issuing claims and counter-claims it’s difficult to know who and what to believe.
In order to throw some light on the issue, Burgis & Bullock has arranged for an open forum debate to be held at Leamington Town Hall on 14 April 2016. Panellists will include Chris White, the local Member of Parliament (pro-EU), Simon Richards, founder of the “Better Off Out” campaign, and Professor Glauco De Vita of Coventry University, together with representatives from business.
