Celebrating 31 years of history in Youngstown, regional CPA firm Cohen & Company (Ohio, USA) has completed a renovation project that expands its downtown Youngstown office location and prepares the firm for future growth and commitment to the region.
"We’ve always been dedicated to downtown Youngstown and doing our part to help it thrive," says Rick Schiraldi, a CPA, JD and tax partner in the Youngstown office. "This renovation is our way to re-commit to, and re-invent, our downtown space at 201 E. Commerce Street. We want to be an integral part of the city's continuing evolution over the next 30-plus years."
The renovation, which took over space previously occupied by the Youngstown Club, expands Cohen & Company's office to 8,100 square feet featuring a modern, open and inviting space equipped with the latest in technology. With the addition of next-generation wireless access across the entire office, employees, clients and guests can work from anywhere in the office. Flat screen high-definition televisions and conference room phones have enhanced collaboration and efficiencies. New customizable workstations allow for ergonomic choices throughout the day, such as working in a sitting or standing position. Strategically placed glass internal walls coupled with the large exterior windows provide natural light and a welcome brightness throughout the new office.
The expanded space also allows for anticipated new hires in the coming years. With nearly 300 employees nationwide and ranked 75th largest CPA firm in the country by Inside Public Accounting, Cohen & Company added four accountants to the Youngstown location in the past year, adding to its growing roster of more than 30 Youngstown-based practitioners.
"Our growth is really a reflection of the growing Youngstown business environment, especially in the areas of energy, manufacturing and service companies," says Jami Blake, a CPA and audit partner in the Youngstown location.
In addition to the firm's contnued growth, Cohen & Company has been consistently recognized for its great work environment, including being honored as a Best Accounting Firm to Work For by Accounting Today and a Best Employer in Ohio by the Ohio Society for Human Resource Management State Council.
