Mercer & Hole are delighted to announce that a longstanding Mercer & Hole client – Pioneer Productions – was sold to the Welsh television production company Tinopolis. It is the one of the few ‘significant’ successfully completed deals that we have advised on in 2009.  

As with any transaction of this size there are many obstacles along the way, but in the strange times of 2009 it took additional motivation and perseverance to get over the finishing line. A number of commentators and advisors involved in corporate finance/M&A are starting to point to an increase in corporate transaction volumes.  We at Mercer & Hole have also seen a pick up in recent months. Banks are providing a little more liquidity, private equity houses have huge stock piles of cash that they have been reluctant to spend, and acquisitive corporate’s are starting to feel a bit more optimistic.
