It is with great pride that the SAX 4 MILER, an annual run/walk event supporting the Child Life Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ, announces that it has achieved an extraordinary milestone – $1 million in total funds raised since its inception in 2012.
The news comes on the heels of the fundraiser’s 13th annual event, which was held on September 21, and has generated more than $80,000 this year thanks to a tremendous outpouring of support from the community, participants, sponsors, and volunteers. Their collective efforts and 100% of the dollars raised are helping to ensure that vital programs and services at the hospital continue to thrive for children and their families.

Damiano, CEO and Managing Partner of SAX. “When we conceived the idea for the 4 MILER, we really had no idea just how much longevity and impact it would ultimately have on the St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, the broader community of Paterson and all of the participants over the years. Achieving this $1 million milestone reflects the incredible generosity of our community and helps drive the Child Life Department’s efforts to provide comfort and care to children and their families during difficult times.”
Since its founding, the 4 MILER has been committed to helping children and families navigate the emotional and psychological stresses of hospitalization through the programs offered by the Child Life Department. This year’s success will continue to fund these essential services, including therapeutic play, music and art therapy, and more.
