Last night, Chris Laughton received the esteemed Sabin Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry at the TRI Awards in recognition of his many years of providing his turnaround, restructuring and insolvency clients with an extremely high standard of professional support and expertise.
Chris said, “It is a real honour to receive this prestigious award. I have been fortunate in having the support of tremendous colleagues, not only the wonderful team at Mercer & Hole but also many professional friends both in the UK and around the world.”
Now in its 15th year, the awards ceremony celebrates the top individuals and firms across turnaround, restructuring and insolvency, with the Sabin Award recognising significant and long-standing excellence in the industry by an individual. The night afforded a chance for the industry to reflect on the challenges and successes for teams, firms and individuals demonstrated by the service they have provided for their clients in what are extremely challenging times.
Chris was a Corporate Restructuring Partner at Mercer & Hole until October 2022 and now is a consultant for the firm. With transactional experience from M&A to restructuring, and as a licensed insolvency practitioner, his emphasis is on practical action and advice. He has acted in many industry sectors and has been the firm’s international restructuring expert, having particular knowledge and experience of European insolvency regimes. Chris is also a member of The Academy of Experts and is regularly called upon for expert witness work.
