Basil Bielich has been awarded the Institute of Directors (IoD) Chair's Award as part of the 2021 IoD Isle of Man Director of the Year Awards.
“I was incredibly proud and honoured to learn I had won the Institute of Directors Chair’s Award 2021. I am fortunate to work with fantastic colleagues. It has been a team effort whether that be through the recently re-branded Atla Group, the Manx Solidarity Fund or the Commonwealth Games. I’d like to thank every individual involved in these organisations. This award really is a reflection of the hard work they have continued to deliver over the past year,” said Basil Bielich Group Chairman of Atla Group. "I’d also like to thank the IOD – Isle of Man and its partners for awarding me with this prestigious honour."
The winners of the 2021 IoD Isle of Man Director of the Year Awards, sponsored by Appleby, were announced during a prestigious lunchtime event held at Woodbourne House, Douglas on 2nd November. The awards ceremony was attended by 140 people with Chair of IoD Isle of Man, Jennifer Houghton, opening the event at which she welcomed the Island’s new Governor, Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer MBE, who also made a short speech.
The Institute of Directors (IoD) is the UK's largest membership organisation for business leaders, providing informative events, professional development courses for self-improvement, networking and expert advice. A key role for the IoD Isle of Man branch is to provide local directors with opportunities to meet other business leaders informally and share their experiences through a range of different types of events, such as breakfast briefings, CPD seminars, networking events and visits to local places of interest.
