Weaver Expands State and Local Tax Practice with New Partner, David Jackson

David Jackson has joined Weaver, the 35th largest public accounting firm in the United States, as partner in the state and local tax (SALT) practice, adding to the firm’s experience in multiple aspects of state and local taxation.

With 25 years of experience in tax services, Jackson’s background includes 15 years as a partner with a Big Four firm where he was responsible for the delivery of SALT services for clients in the Southwest region of their portfolio to include privately owned businesses as well as multinational public companies. He is highly skilled in helping clients understand the state and local tax impact of their business operations including mergers and acquisitions, entity selection and business reorganizations.

Jackson has served as an advisor to businesses in several key industries including power and utilities, oilfield services, upstream oil and gas, engineering, construction, chemical manufacturing, retail, health care and technology. In addition, he often serves as a speaker on key tax issues and has presented for the Texas Tax Executives Institute.

Jackson is a certified public accountant in Texas and Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Accounting from the Tennessee Technological University and a Master of Accountancy in Taxation from the University of Tennessee.
