Weaver, the 35th largest public accounting and advisory firm in the United States, is pleased to announce that Craig Epstein has joined the firm as a director of international tax services in its Houston office.
Epstein, with more than 12 years of experience in complex international tax issues, most recently worked with a Big Four firm where he focused on tax planning and managing tax exposure for U.S. multinational and foreign-owned companies. His professional background encompasses numerous areas of international tax including tax compliance, tax provision reviews and audit support as well as cross-border restructuring and tax planning impacting multi-national businesses.
“We are thrilled to have Craig join Weaver’s international tax team,” said CEO and Managing Partner John Mackel. “Our international practice continues to grow and having him positioned in Houston, a global hub for foreign trade and investment, advances the firm’s long-term commitment to multi-national and foreign-owned businesses.”
As director, Epstein will collaborate with Weaver’s multi-national clients to address outbound and inbound taxation issues including those associated with U.S. tax reform. He will also work with clients in the evaluation of available export tax incentive opportunities, tax efficient repatriation strategies and foreign tax credit utilization planning as well as ASC 740 reporting.
“Craig’s extensive experience deepens the bench of our international tax practice and enables us to better assist our clients in meeting their global objectives,” added Vince Houk, Partner-in-Charge of International Tax Services. “Now is the right time to broaden our team’s expertise and Craig’s strong background in global tax strategy will position us well in the Houston market and beyond.”
Epstein, a licensed certified public accountant in Texas, earned a Master of Taxation from Villanova University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Delaware.
