Boodle Hatfield has strengthened its team with the appointment of two new lateral hire partners, Construction specialist Navpreet Atwal, and Employment specialist Simon Gorham.
Navpreet advises owners, developers, contractors, consultants, private equity investors, and institutional lenders on major construction projects across the globe. Significant work she has undertaken includes construction due diligence advice on the £1bn acquisition and financing of an office tower in London and advice on a $1.2bn development consisting of hotels, casinos, commercial centres and a residential complex.
Navpreet was shortlisted for the 'Legal Adviser of the Year' award at the Women in Finance Awards 2018. The Women in Finance Awards celebrate the individuals and organisations leading change, breaking down barriers and creating new possibilities for equal representation in the world of finance.
Simon started his career as a trainee at Boodle Hatfield before specialising in employment law. Simon has since held senior positions at Taylor Wessing and Forsters as well as Weil Gotshal and Manges.
Simon advises on a wide range of employment law issues across European and other international jurisdictions. He provides counsel on senior executive service agreements, terminations and sensitive boardroom issues as well as the protection of confidential information and post-termination restrictions.
Simon has also advised on the employment aspects of a wide variety of private equity, M&A and outsourcing transactions. He has particular experience advising financial services institutions on investigations, whistleblowing, discrimination and other grievances.
