New President for The Appleton Group

Robert U. Sattin appointed President of The Appleton Group

Export Businesses and Legal and Accounting Network Members to Benefit from Group’s New Developments


reidsattin.jpgWednesday, 02 April 2008 (St. Petersburg, Florida) – The Appleton Group (TAG) announced today that Robert U. Sattin has joined the firm as president. Mr. Sattin joins TAG Chairman Peter Appleton Jones in managing and developing the three businesses that form The Appleton Group. TAG’s businesses include TAGLaw®, a global network of law firms, The International Accounting Group (TIAG®), a similar global network of accounting firms, and TAG Academy SM, a web-based educational institute for lawyers and accountants.

“Bob Sattin has been a member of the TAGLaw board for the last nine years and has been instrumental in the early development and rapid growth of the TAGLaw network,” said Chairman, Peter Appleton Jones. “His knowledge and expertise will be an important asset as our operations expand into the educational and business support arenas.”


“Thanks to Peter’s leadership, the networks are thriving.  I am eager to continue their growth into new markets and to develop new ways to benefit our member firms,” said Mr. Sattin. “Recent examples include our new partnership skills course for attorneys and our coordination of international legal matters for businesses that have sales operations in many countries.”

Robert Sattin formerly was in the private practice of law for over 33 years in Hartford, CT., the past 22 of which were with the firm of Reid and Riege, P.C. where he founded and led the Insolvency practice group and served as part of firm management.  He is a past Advisory Board member of TAGLaw. Among his other experience, he was a past Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association section of Commercial Law and Bankruptcy, a past Vice-President of The Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys, a past Director of the Connecticut Chapter of The Turnaround Management Committee, a past member of the Merit Screening Committee for the most recent Bankruptcy Judge appointment in Connecticut and a past Vice-President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford.
