Guerrero Olivos has promoted 5 lawyers to its partnership as of January 1, 2020. Our new partners are Rocío García de la Pastora, Josefina Yávar, Miguel Coddou, Benjamín Pérez, and Tomás Kubick.
Rocío García de la Pastora, leading partner of Guerrero Olivos’ labour, migration and employment practice. She specializes in labour law, complex labour litigation, collective bargaining, strategic labour plans and corporate labour matters. In the academic field, she is Professor of pre and post-graduate programs of Labour Law and Labour Litigation at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Also, she is director of the Chilean Labour Law and Social Security Association since 2010, member of the Industry Association of Labour Lawyers, fellow of the Bolonia University, depended on the OIL and was Instructor in Litigation Techniques at the California Western School of Law and Accesso Training Program, and PhD candidate in the labour program of Universidad de Salamanca, Spain.
Josefina Yávar started her career in Guerrero Olivos and is the leading partner of the venture capital department and member of our corporate/M&A and private equity groups. She is a professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in the master’s in law Program in the “Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital” lecture. She holds an LLM from Harvard University and has been awarded with several prizes and recognitions such as Honor´s Tuition and best Corporate Governance Thesis Award CGUC-Deloitte, among several others.
Miguel Coddou, leading partner of the banking and finance practice. He specializes in all kinds of financings, banking and finance regulation and capital markets. Before joining Guerrero Olivos, he worked as CLO in several international banks including Rabobank Chile, The Royal Bank of Scotland Chile (RBS) and AMB AMRO Chile. Also, he was part of LATAM’s legal department for 5 years.
Benjamín Pérez also developed his entire carreer with Guerrero Olivos. Co-heads the water law practice and is a member of the mining and environmental groups. Since 2018 he is President of the Mining Committee of the Chile-Australia Chamber of Commerce and has acted as speaker in the mining and water law sessions of Universidad de Chile. In addition, he published several articles on environmental and water law issues in the context of the mining industry.
Tomás Kubick started his career in Guerrero Olivos and is the leading partner of the consumer protection practice and member of the corporate/M&A, compliance and antitrust groups. He specializes in M&A, joint ventures and in compliance programs. He has a master’s in law from New York University and he is professor of commercial law at Pontificia Universidad Católica Law School since 2015.
