Boston law firm Casner & Edwards LLP is pleased to announce that Edward V. Colbert was recently appointed to the Boston Bar Association (BBA) Council. The BBA Council is the association’s 33-member governing body, and is responsible for setting policy, making financial decisions, and providing oversight on behalf of membership.
Colbert has extensive experience in civil and criminal litigation, and his practice often involves representing companies and individuals in complex disputes, including contractual, employment, intellectual property, real estate and professional liability cases. He also represents corporate shareholders, officers and directors in internal disputes concerning their fiduciary duties, as well as during governmental investigations and enforcement actions. Colbert is also highly experienced in Educational Law, having served as a representative of numerous schools, along with their employees, teachers, and students in various school-related legal disputes and as independent counsel in several investigations into sexual misconduct at private secondary schools. Colbert has been appointed as an external investigator in Title IX investigations and other employment harassment cases at the college level.
Colbert has served on the BBA's Joint Bar Committee, Planning Committee and as Co-Chair of their Litigation Section and Task Force on Confidential Settlement Agreements.
