Boston law firm Casner & Edwards announces that attorney Don J.J. Cordell will speak at the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) education program “My Trust Just Went Bust in Bankruptcy,” September 9, 2019 in Boston, MA.
Cordell is the program’s co-chair and will serve as a panelist to address:
- Tensions at the intersection of bankruptcy and estate planning
- Challenges and pitfalls for lawyers drafting estate plans, including long-term-care planning related to Medicaid
- Strategies for debtors seeking to preserve plans while creditors seek to disregard them
Cordell's law practice primarily focuses on estate and related tax planning and business law with particular emphasis on the representation of closely held and family businesses. He also specializes in administering trusts and estates, long-term care planning and other elder law matters, estate planning for disabled persons, guardianship and conservatorship matters and representation of clients in probate controversies. Additionally, at the request of certain clients, Cordell serves in the role of executor (personal representative) and trustee.
