Fillmore Riley’s team, “Motion to Strike Cancer,” exceeded our goal of $45,000, raising $54,000 for CancerCare Manitoba through our participation in Challenge for Life 2.0.
Through our past involvement in the Challenge for Life Walk and the Dragon Boat Festival, we have now raised more than $300,000 that went towards helping Manitobans affected by cancer.
Each member of Motion to Strike Cancer committed to raise a minimum of $500 and to walk 20 kilometres on June 8. Stuart Blake, a partner of Fillmore Riley and a member of the Board of Directors at CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, singlehandedly raised $23,175.
“Cancer is a cause that resonates with everyone. I am grateful for the tremendous support I received from colleagues, friends and family,” said Stuart, the team captain of Motion to Strike Cancer. “I am proud of our team, including those who donated, helped to fundraise and volunteered at the event, for doing their part to raise much-needed funds for cancer research and patient care.”
Fillmore Riley was also the proud sponsor of the massage tent. The massage tent was a hit with the walkers after their long trek.
CancerCare Manitoba Foundation's 12th-annual Challenge for Life raised a total of $1,084,576. CancerCare Manitoba Foundation raises funds and annually contributes more than $6,500,000 to CancerCare Manitoba to help deliver the best research, patient care, treatment and support for all Manitobans.
