Leading law firm Blake Morgan has been appointed to Peabody Trust’s legal services framework, strengthening the firm’s already significant housing association work.
The appointment follows Peabody Trust’s merger with Family Mosaic Housing Group in 2017, which saw Peabody become one of London's largest housing associations. With 55,000 homes and 111,000 residents, the new organisation has revised its legal services framework to support the larger operation.
Blake Morgan, which already works with a wide range of national and regional housing associations, including Clarion Group, One Housing, Optivo and Pennaf, has been appointed to three framework lots – asset management and property, development and construction, and major contracts and commercial disputes.
The appointment will cover legal services for four years and will focus on supporting the Trust’s aims to continue to deliver high quality services to customers, build 2,500 new homes each year by 2012 and take steps to regenerate Thamesmead – London’s new town.
Kate Silverman, Partner at Blake Morgan, said: “The Peabody Trust is an exciting point in it’s history. Already one of London's most prestigious housing associations, the 2017 merger increases what the Trust will be able to achieve and strive towards ever-better services while boosting the available of housing across London and the South East.
“This makes it a great time to be working with Peabody, so we’re delighted to have been appointed to the legal services framework and look forward to working with them.”
