Randall D. Crocker, President and CEO of von Briesen & Roper, s.c., today announced that Attorney Daniel S. Welytok was appointed by the U.S. Department of Treasury to serve on the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities (“ACT”).
ACT members serve three-year terms and are selected by the Commissioner of the IRS and then appointed by the Department of the Treasury. The IRS seeks a diverse group of members representing a broad spectrum of persons experienced in employee plans; exempt organizations; tax-exempt bonds; federal, state, local and Indian tribal governments. Nominees must go through a clearance process before appointment by the Department of the Treasury.
Welytok is a Shareholder in the Business Practice Group where he assists clients nationally and internationally with tax issues, acquisitions and divestments, capital structuring, financing, corporate governance, regulatory and compliance issues. He represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Labor, Federal and state courts and regulatory agencies on audits, controversies, compliance issues and business disputes. He advises nonprofit and tax-favored organizations on business and tax matters including structural and cooperative arrangements, joint ventures, unrelated business income, grant making, public awareness campaigns and fundraising activities. Welytok received an LL.M. in Taxation from De Paul University and a J.D. and B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin.
