Piper Alderman recently advised the sellers of Optimatics Holdings Pty Ltd (comprising a series of private and institutional investors, including Emerald Technology Ventures) on the company’s sale to Suez Ventures.
Optimatics is the world-leading provider of infrastructure planning software that enables water and wastewater utilities around the globe to configure water systems to optimise performance.
Optimatics is an innovative company which grew out of a University of Adelaide PhD project. Its water system optimisation software has attracted the French-based multi-national corporation, Suez which has purchased 100% of the shares in Optimatics Holdings Pty Ltd.
The transaction came about after Suez Ventures acquired a minority stake during the company’s Series B funding round in March 2017.
Piper Alderman’s lead partner on the deal, James Macdonald, commented: “We are delighted to have assisted the shareholders of Optimatics in both the previous Series A and Series B fundraising rounds as well as now achieving a successful exit. We look forward to seeing Optimatics grow under the direction and control of Suez.”
