Commencing Monday 4 June 2018, the Melbourne office of Piper Alderman will operate from Level 23, 459 Collins Street, Melbourne.
The relocation will see Piper Alderman vacate its office in Bourke Street, as the firm consolidates its merger with boutique corporate and commercial law firm, Norton Gledhill.
The November 2017 merger introduced Alasdair McLean, Bruce Cameron, Hugh Scales, James Macdonald, Michael Coker (Corporate and Commercial) and Chris Hartigan (Employment) to the Piper Alderman partnership; together with Consultant, David Burridge (Corporate and Commercial) and Special Counsel, Gordon Bell (Real Estate) and their teams.
In April this year, Joanne Hardwick also joined Piper Alderman as a partner in its Insolvency & Reconstruction team in Melbourne.
The Melbourne office now boasts 18 partners (of the firm’s national total of 62) with a focus on corporate and commercial; construction; dispute resolution; employment and workplace health & safety; franchising; insolvency and reconstruction; intellectual property and technology; and real estate.
Joint Head of Melbourne Office, Tim Clark said of the relocation:
"Our merger with Norton Gledhill in November has added new corporate, commercial and employment expertise and experience. This assists us in continuing to provide our clients with the high standard of service they are used to and positioning Piper Alderman to capitalise on current opportunities in the Melbourne market. The relocation to Collins Street will help us foster further collaboration amongst the Melbourne team and our clients.”
Alasdair McLean, Joint Head of Melbourne Office who joined Piper Alderman from Norton Gledhill commented:
“I am pleased to say, 7 months post-merger, our team has settled very well into Piper Alderman. The feedback from our clients has been extremely supportive during our transition into the firm, and we have been able to introduce them to the national reach and depth Piper Alderman has to offer. We’re looking forward to further enhancing the experience for our clients from our new combined location.”
