Piper Alderman expands corporate and financial services team

Martin Lovell is a leading projects and finance lawyer. He has recently acted on major property and infrastructure developments, grid connected battery projects and project finance transactions. He is also highly regarded for his expertise in corporate finance, personal property securities and trusts law.

Martin boasts both Australian and international experience having worked at top-tier firms in London and Melbourne and formerly headed the banking and finance team at a South Australian law firm.

Piper Alderman appoints new commercial law partner

Sarah Johnson is a highly experienced lawyer with particular expertise in general commercial law, technology, intellectual property and not for profit law.  She has advised financial institutions, multi-national corporations, listed public companies, private companies, peak group organisations and not for profit companies in relation to all aspects of corporate and commercial law.

Sarah has practised for over 18 years, initially in New Zealand, and for the last 13 years, in Australia.

Piper Alderman announces new senior promotions

Piper Alderman is delighted to announce a number of promotions across the firm, including two new partners, with effect from 1 July 2017.

Newly appointed partners Bianca Battistella and Joshua Annese operate out of the firm’s Corporate & Agribusiness and Banking & Finance practice teams, respectively.

Bianca has positioned herself as a trusted advisor to a variety of Australian and international clients including SMEs, not for profits and large corporate enterprises. Over the past 3 years, Bianca has developed a particular interest in the food, beverage and agribusiness industries.  Bianca was recently appointed Deputy Chair of Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market Inc and is also a board member of Potatoes South Australia Inc.

Piper Alderman appoints senior Infrastructure and Projects partner

Piper Alderman has announced the appointment of industry recognised Robert Riddell as a partner in its national Infrastructure and Projects team based in Sydney. Robert is joining Piper Alderman from Dentons (previously Gadens), with Special Counsel, Daniel Fitzpatrick.

Robert is a highly respected infrastructure and construction lawyer transacting both nationally as well as internationally. He has built his practice in construction, infrastructure and property in Australia as well as Papua New Guinea (PNG), where he previously held the position of Managing Partner of Gadens’ PNG office.

Piper Alderman merges with Norton Gledhill

The merger will be a full financial integration with partners of both firms sharing in the same pool of profits, and all of the current principals and employees of Norton Gledhill will join the merged practice.

David Burridge, Bruce Cameron, Hugh Scales, James Macdonald, Michael Coker, Alasdair McLean (Corporate and Commercial), Leneen Forde (Dispute Resolution) and Chris Hartigan (Employment and Workplace Relations) together with their respective teams will be part of merger.

The merged firm will boast 60 partners and 141 lawyers with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.
