Guerrero Olivos, member of the exclusive group of “Elite Firm” in Chile, continues to strengthen his practices areas, supporting his clients in all their needs. Recently has joined the firm, as a senior counsel, Marcos Morales, a prominent expert lawyer and academic.
Marcos studied at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has an LL.M. in Private Law from Universidad de Chile. As part of his experience, he has been legal advisor at National Patent and Trademark Office (INAPI), Director of Intellectual Property at Alessandri Law Firm, Consultant at World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO, partner in charge of trademarks at Silva & Cïa., and Legal Director of the Department of Industrial Property of the Ministry of Economy. He is an intellectual property professor and he has published the unique agreement in Chile about prosecution of trademarks, as well as several articles in the matter, in national and international law magazines.
Marcos joins the firm to strengthen the intelectual property team, led by Diego Morandé. Diego studied at Universidad de Los Andes, has an LL.M. from University of California, Berkeley, and a Diploma in Litigation and New Legal Procedures from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
The intellectual property practice group are providing to their clients domestic and international clients with a thorough assistance in connection with their IP matters, including not only daily services in connection with trademark and patent registration process but also rendering complete assistance, in Chile and abroad, including copyright, technology transfer, IP litigation, domain names, personal data, cyber security, the drafting and negotiation of exemptions, license contracts, and product distribution, among others. In the patent area, we are advising a very relevant number of clients, both Chilean and foreign in the search, drafting and prosecution of patents and in the protection of artistic and literary work and software.
