Wernick has joined its business department and will focus on matters related to technology, intellectual property, and privacy/cybersecurity. He is a seasoned advisor in the technology law area with more than 30 years of experience counselling clients to protect their information and reduce risk of disputes and challenges. “We welcome Alan as a new member of our business team and we know he will provide the same level of service excellence that our valued clients have grown accustomed to,” said CPM Managing Partner, Jeffrey J. Mr. Wernick, a Martindale-Hubbell® AV rated attorney, is admitted to practice law in Ohio, Illinois, New York and the District of Columbia, and several U.S. District Courts, U.S. Courts of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is an arbitrator and mediator who serves on several neutrals panels for the American Arbitration Association including the technology disputes, intellectual property disputes, and the large complex cases panels. Before joining Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP, Mr. Wernick practiced with Quarles & Brady LLP, and McBride Baker & Coles in Chicago. He is a member of the Alumni Board of the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.
Alan received a bachelor of science (BS) in accounting from The Ohio State University and went on to receive his juris doctorate (JD) from Capital University. He completed further studies at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
Alan speaks regularly at industry conferences and continuing legal education events and has been published in multiple business and legal publications. He is a thought leader in the areas of technology law, copyright, privacy and cybersecurity. He also publishes a periodic newsletter entitled the
ITIP Alert TM.
