MILWAUKEE, WI – Randall D. Crocker, President and CEO of von Briesen & Roper, s.c., today announced the addition of five attorneys: Shareholders Peter F. Mullaney and Jeffrey J.P. Conta; Principal Associate Michelle Bergholz Frazier, and Associates Nicholas R. DiUlio and Dyan Hernandez.
Attorney Peter F. Mullaney is a Shareholder in the Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group. Mullaney counsels and defends corporations, insurers, health care providers and government entities. Mullaney has successfully conducted numerous jury trials involving personal injuries, contract disputes, and other issues. He has also briefed and argued dozens of cases in the state and federal appellate courts. Before entering private practice in 1989, Mullaney served for four years as a federal court law clerk in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin.
Mullaney is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and Civil Trial Counsel of Wisconsin. He has been published in Marquette Law Review and authored two feature articles in Wisconsin Lawyer magazine. He has also presented seminars for the Civil Trial Counsel of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers. Mullaney is a mentor and vice president of the board for Summit Educational Association, Inc., a non-profit Milwaukee youth organization.
Mullaney earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Marquette University in 1985 and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Boston College in 1980. He resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with his wife and two stepsons.
Attorney Jeffrey J.P. Conta is a Shareholder in the firm’s Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group. Conta’s practice is devoted to representing businesses, hospitals and health care providers, and insurance companies and their insureds in civil litigation proceedings. Conta has tried jury cases involving medical/hospital claims, product liability, automobile and general liability, and insurance coverage. His practice also includes appellate work, with multiple published decisions.
Conta is a member of the Civil Trial Counsel of Wisconsin, Defense Research Institute, State Bar of Wisconsin, and American Bar Association. He earned his J.D. in 1992 from Marquette University and his B.S. in 1989 from Lawrence University. He resides in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin with his wife and children.
Attorney Michelle Bergholz Frazier re-joined the firm as a Principal Associate in the Health Care Practice Group. Frazier advises health care clients on general health law matters and regulatory issues, including certification and licensure, Medicare and Medicaid compliance, patient care issues, medical staff issues and health care contracting.
Frazier originally joined the firm in 2002. In 2004, Frazier moved to Great Britain with her family and recently moved back to the United States. Before joining the firm in 2002, Frazier practiced commercial litigation for Best & Flanagan, LLP, and then Dorsey & Whitney, LLP in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Frazier also clerked for Judge Marianne D. Short of the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
Frazier is a member of the State Bars of Wisconsin and Minnesota, the American Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association. She earned a J.D. in 1998 from the University of Minnesota, and a B.S., Phi Beta Kappa, in 1994 from the University of Wisconsin. She resides in Shorewood, Wisconsin with her husband and children.
Attorney Nicholas R. DiUlio joined the firm as an associate in the Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group. DiUlio focuses on insurance coverage, subrogation, commercial litigation, toxic tort, and general litigation matters.
DiUlio earned a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 2006 and a B.A. from Marquette University in 2002. During law school, DiUlio served as Vice President of the University of Wisconsin Law School’s Mock Trial program. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Bar Association. He resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Attorney Dyan Hernandez joined the firm as an associate in the Health Care Practice Group. Prior to law school, Hernandez worked for four years as an Accountant for the Texas Department of Transportation auditing and reporting on financial activities for all 254 counties. In addition, she worked at the Internal Revenue Service, analyzing data for consistency with tax laws and regulations and providing taxpayers with information.
Hernandez earned a J.D. from the University of Iowa in 2006, an M.A. from Texas State University in 2003 and a B.B.A. from the University of Texas in 1998. During law school, she was a student writer for the Iowa Law Review and served as an intern for U.S. District Judge George P. Kazen in Texas. She will be sworn in to the State Bar of Wisconsin in early October. She is a member of the Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee and the American Health Lawyers Association. She resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
