Congratulations to DQ’s (Isle of Man) shipping team who have been recognised as leaders in their field following their top tier ranking in the latest edition of Legal 500.
The specialist team, led by “helpful and responsive” director and head of corporate and commercial, Mark Dougherty and including senior associate Donna Matthews, is going from strength to strength after a busy 12 months.
Mark led the DQ team which advised Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (CA-CIB) on a US$1bn joint venture between CA-CIB and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank. Earlier in the year, the team advised on the sale and leasehold of three car carriers from Hoegh Administrators, which was recognised as the “Deal of the Year” by Marine Money International. This deal followed the team assisting on the delivery, flagging and registration of nine 13,100 TEU container vessels built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in Korea – the largest vessels on the Isle of Man ship registry.
The success of DQ’s shipping team highlights the island’s leading position in the global shipping industry and the great work done by Dick Welsh and all his team at the Isle of Man Ship Registry. The Island continues to be the jurisdiction of choice for large vessel registration and the establishment of innovative and flexible corporate structures in the global shipping industry.
