Reid and Riege (Connecticut, USA) is pleased to announce the addition of three new attorneys – John Paul Callahan, Katherine E. Coleman and Desmond M. Ryan. They have all joined the firm’s Hartford office as associates. JP is a member of the firm’s Business Law and Nonprofit Organizations Practice Areas, Katherine is a member of the firm’s Individual Client Services Practice Area and Desmond is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Area.
JP’s practice focuses on general corporate and nonprofit governance, preparing contracts, business formation and business transactions including mergers and acquisitions. While in law school, JP provided pro bono legal assistance to small businesses on transactional matters typical in the start-up phase and ongoing management of their enterprises. JP received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Western New England University School of Law and his B.S., summa cum laude, from Western New England University.
Katherine’s practice focuses on estate planning, estate settlement and tax. While in law school, Katherine represented taxpayers before the IRS and Connecticut Department of Revenue Services through the University of Connecticut School of Law Tax Clinic and prepared income tax returns through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Katherine received her J.D., with high honors, and Tax Certificate from the University of Connecticut School of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the College of the Holy Cross.
Desmond’s practice includes general commercial and complex civil litigation. Before joining Reid and Riege, Desmond served as a law clerk for the Honorable Dennis G. Eveleigh of the Connecticut Supreme Court. Desmond received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the Quinnipiac University School of Law and his B.S., summa cum laude, from Northeastern University.
