As part of the Tour de France celebrations, Clarkslegal (Reading, England) organised a team challenge for staff to cycle 190 kilometres, the distance of the tour’s first stage, raising profile and donations for the firm’s three nominated charities - Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, Contact the Elderly and Cardiff Foodbank.
The big event took place on static road bikes in the centre of Reading’s Broad Street. The cyclists received an overwhelming amount of support throughout the day from local shoppers and were able to complete the course in just six hours, despite temperatures reaching up to 25 degrees!
Julia Philipson of Alexander Devine joined the team for the challenge:
“It was so much fun to be part of "Tour de Clarkslegal" on Friday on Reading`s Broad Street! Huge thanks to all the Clarkslegal team who cycled in very warm conditions raising great awareness for our much needed children’s hospice build which will start later this year. We couldn’t do it without such ongoing local support, they’re an incredible team.”
Stephen James, Partner at Clarkslegal and Head of the Charity Committee, led the initiative:
“We are delighted with the result and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part. We look forward to organising similar events in the future to engage with the local community and further support our three nominated charities.”
