Rees F. Morgan
As a trial lawyer, Morgan has secured verdicts on multiple matters, including as first chair in five federal jury trials. He handles complex business disputes in federal and state courts, involving government investigations, white collar criminal defense, and civil and criminal securities fraud. Morgan has litigated more than a dozen writs and appeals, and argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
From August 2008 – July 2011, Morgan served as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Southern District of California, where he prosecuted cases involving fraud and identity theft, organized crime and racketeering, and narcotics and firearms trafficking conspiracies, and was specially designated as an Anti-Gang and Violent Crime AUSA tasked with developing and implementing gang eradication efforts on behalf of the office.
Morgan earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2003 and graduated with honors from the College of William & Mary in 1999 where he majored in political science and history.
Charmaine Yu
Yu is an experienced litigator in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels. She has successfully defended development project approvals against challenge under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), as well as other state and local land use laws. She represents clients in a wide range of other litigation, including contract and partnership disputes, business torts, unfair business practices actions, and employment-related matters, with a particular expertise in defending wage and hour cases.
Before joining the firm, Yu was an attorney for the San Francisco Public Defender's Office where she was lead counsel in 35 jury trials and more than 20 appellate matters. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Royce Lamberth, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Yu graduated cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2001 and graduated magna cum laude from Duke University in 1998.
