Last Friday, Aivar Pilv Law Office (Estonia) celebrated its 20th birthday with a conference named “Law is life itself” and a following reception, organised for clients and co-operation partners in Tallink Spa & Conference Hotel.
Managing partner Aivar Pilv thanked in his opening speech all the clients and co-operation partners for a pleasant and long-term teamwork that has given the office a chance to prove its loyalty and ability to manage very different and complicated legal matters as well as to shape the legal practice in the last two decades.
Estonia’s entrepreneur of the year 2012, AS Chemi-Pharm’s founder and CEO Ruth Oltjer talked about business without borders and all the different cultures and traditions that an entrepreneur must keep in mind when doing business in today’s colourful world. The ambassador of European Parliament, Ivari Padar showed in his speech how Estonia has been represented in the European institutions. He also analysed the European Union’s developments, financial policy and the making of it form Estonia’s viewpoint. The editor in chief of business newspaper Äripäev, Meelis Mandel explained the newspaper’s policy of publishing news and dealing with facts. He also showed the reasons why the newspaper sometimes goes to court and how they try to solve such situations beforehand. Estonia’s beloved actor Allan Noormets, who has been playing an attorney in an Estonian TV serial for 18 years, talked about his role as an attorney and how the character has evolved throughout these years. (His presentation was titled “18 years of fake attorney”.)
