Eaton Peabody Welcomes Top Maine Litigator Neal F. Pratt to the Firm

Eaton Peabody (Maine, USA) is pleased to welcome Neal Pratt to the firm. Mr. Pratt will be resident in the firm's Portland office which is expected to open during the first quarter of 2013.

Mr. Pratt joins Eaton Peabody's Litigation Practice Group where he will concentrate on complex civil litigation, including commercial litigation and construction claims, product liability and tort defense, and professional liability complaints.  He also has extensive experience in insurance coverage disputes, employment litigation, and white collar criminal defense.

A well-known state-wide and regional litigator for more than 23 years, Mr. Pratt has successfully handled numerous high profile civil and criminal cases. He is recognized as a premier trial attorney by several nationally respected peer review organizations, including The Best Lawyers in America; Chambers USA; New England Super Lawyers; Lawdragon Magazine; and Benchmark Litigation.  Among his positions before joining Eaton Peabody, Mr. Pratt chaired the Trial Department and served as General Counsel to one of Northern New England's largest law firms.  Mr. Pratt also serves on the Federal Local Rules Advisory Committee and is a Fellow of the Maine Bar Foundation.

"We are very pleased to have Neal join Eaton Peabody. His demonstrated talent as a trial lawyer and his superb reputation in Maine will be an enormous asset to the firm and to our clients," stated managing partner Dan McKay.  "Neal will fit nicely with our growing state-wide litigation practice."

In addition to his busy legal practice, Mr. Pratt is widely recognized for his commitment to community service.  He was recently honored by the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce as the 2012 recipient of its Robert R. Masterton Award for Leadership in Economic Development.  As the unprecedented 4-term Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Cumberland County Civic Center - Maine's largest arena - Mr. Pratt led the successful 2011 bond referendum campaign in which voters approved a $33 million modernization initiative.  From 2010 to 2012, Coach Pratt also managed the Scarborough Little League All-Star baseball team to a record-setting three consecutive State Championships and two Eastern Regional Tournaments.

Mr. Pratt received his J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center) and his B.A. from the University of Maine.
