Eaton Peabody Welcomes Attorney Adria LaRose to the Firm

Eaton Peabody (Maine, USA) is pleased to welcome attorney Adria LaRose to the firm. Adria will join Eaton Peabody's Litigation Department where she will concentrate her  practice on general litigation and dispute resolution with a particular focus on intellectual property and environmental litigation.

Adria lives in Bangor with her husband and two daughters. Prior to joining Eaton Peabody, she was an adjunct professor at the University of Maine, Orono, where she developed a "Psychology and Law" course (PSY 490). She is a member of the Maine and California bars and is a certified mediator in Maine.

Prior to moving to Maine, Adria practiced law in San Francisco for 15 years, including stints with the San Francisco offices of Bingham McCutchen and Holme Roberts & Owen. Her diverse business litigation experience includes intellectual property litigation (including trademark and anti-counterfeiting), legal malpractice, First Amendment, telecommunications, and environmental matters. Her experience includes appellate practice before the California Courts of Appeal and California Supreme Court, as well as the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Adria has handled anti-counterfeiting suits for a major software developer and a large computer chip maker, coordinated execution of search and seizure orders for a video game manufacturer, and has appeared before the California Public Utilities Commission on behalf of an international telecommunications company and a local municipality.

In addition to her private practice experience, she served for two years as Special Counsel for the Public Interest Lawyers Group in San Francisco where she litigated trade secret, securities, unfair competition, environmental, and civil rights cases, and was an associate for two years with the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund.

Adria received her J.D. from Stanford Law School, 1990, where she was Executive Editor of the Stanford Law Review and was Co-Chair of the Women of Stanford Law and a member of the Stanford Environmental Law Society. She received her A.B. in Anthropology from the University of Missouri, 1987, summa cum laude, with General Honors and Honors in Anthropology; she was Phi Beta Kappa; on the Dean's List; and earned a University Scholar scholarship.
