Clarkslegal (Reading, England) is pleased to confirm the appointment of Jessica Taylor as Partner, joining our construction team and demonstrating the firm’s continued growth in a challenging industry sector.
Jessica will be based primarily in our Covent Garden office and has over 20 years’ experience advising clients on all aspects of construction law. Having spent the early part of her career advising on construction disputes she has developed over the last 15 years a specialist construction practice focusing on development projects in both the private and public sectors, in particular regeneration and affordable housing schemes, and brings additional expertise to the firm in energy projects.
Jessica joins Clarkslegal from a leading city and international law firm where she has acted for clients including major property owners and investors, developers, banks and the public sector on a wide range of projects involving major strategic and operational contracts and joint venture/partnering initiatives. Her recent work includes high value UK and international construction projects related to regenerations and mixed use schemes, energy projects, hotel and retail projects and social housing schemes.
During her career Jessica has served on several industry-wide committees. These include the Joint Contracts Tribunal which produces standard forms of construction contract documents for use in the construction industry; and she was formerly Deputy Divisional Director of the Quantity Surveyors Division of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. She is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Constructors.
David Rintoul, Clarkslegal’s Head of Construction and Deputy Managing Partner, welcomed Jessica to the firm, which, following the recent expansion of the corporate team, supports the firm’s burgeoning profile in London:
“We are delighted to confirm Jessica’s appointment to Clarkslegal. Her exceptional experience, allied with an outstanding personal reputation and profile across the industry, will undoubtedly be of great help to us as we continue to look to build on and develop our growing construction and project work across both public and private sectors.
As a result of new client wins and prestigious regional, national, and international projects, Clarkslegal’s position within the construction sector has developed considerably in recent times, both regionally and nationally. The number of our clients who are international companies, large plcs, or subsidiaries of international companies is notable and Jessica’s appointment will considerably add to the team’s growing profile.”
