Carter Newell Lawyers (Queensland, Australia) has won the ‘Disability Employment Award’ at the 2012 Australian Human Resources Institute’s (AHRI) Diversity Awards.
After a rigorous process of review by independent human resource and business leaders from leading Australian organisations, Carter Newell was named the winner at the premier AHRI Diversity lunch in Melbourne.
The award recognises Carter Newell’s excellence in the area of diversity and its commitment to its long running program which has been in existence for the past 12 years. Some of the staff employed under this initiative have been with the firm for longer than 10 years, with eight staff members currently employed through this program.
“These staff members are doing a great job keeping up with all the administration we give them“, said Dr Peter Ellender, CEO.
“But of more importance is that it continues to underline our culture where all staff embrace and respect the people involved and the work that they do for us”, he said.
Human Resource Manager, Belinda Parish states “We recognise individual skill sets and tailor development to best meet the needs of the individual in order to achieve personal and career goals”.
