Guerrero, Olivos Strengthens Tax Practice

Guerrero, Olivos, Novoa y Errázuriz (Chile) announced that acclaimed tax expert Carolina Fuensalida has joined the firm as a senior associate. Ms. Fuensalida, graduate of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, has been an advisor to the Ministry of Energy on legal matters regarding rules and regulations in the industry. She also served with the Ministry of Finance, as coordinator in charge of tax policy guidelines.

"The addition of Carolina is part of the Firm’s aim to strengthen this practice area, which is an important ancillary service in a sector that has been going through important reforms," said Sebastián Guerrero, partner and leader of the Tax practice area. Mr. Guerrero adds: "Carolina will make a significant contribution, considering her vast experience in tax and her an undeniable academic and professional prestige."

Ms. Fuensalida has a LLM from the University of California, Berkeley, where she specialized in Corporations, Securities, and International Trade Antirust. As a student at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, she was awarded the Tocornal y Montenegro award, given to the best students in each class year. Ms. Fuensalida received a Fulbright Scholarship in 1998.

Ms. Fuensalida teaches in the Master of Law program at Universidad de Los Andes. She has been the Academic Secretary of Master in Business Law from the Pontifica Universidad Católica.
