Eduardo Cordero has joined Guerrero, Olivos, Novoa y Errázuriz (Chile) as senior associate in March 2012. His focus will be on constitutional law, administrative law and regulatory issues. Mr. Cordero will also head the Firm’s new Public Law practice area.
He comes to the Firm as a law professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso School of Law where he most recently taught Administrative Law since 2007.
"His arrival is part of our strategy of formally creating a practice area focused in public law matters, including institutional and administrative law and regulatory activities, in coordination with other practice areas of the Firm, particularly with the Natural Resources, Energy and Infrastructure practice area,” said Roberto Guerrero, partner of the Firm. “We are very proud to have a professional and academician that is as distinguished as Eduardo join our Firm."
Mr. Cordero studied at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. He received his Doctor in Law and Masters in Territorial and Urbanity Politics in Spain, at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid. Mr. Cordero also has a Masters in Mining Law from Universidad de Atacama. As law professor, he taught various law courses, including leading the Law Masters Program and the Administrative Law Diploma at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Mr. Cordero holds the position of Academic Secretary at this latter institution.
Professionally, Mr. Cordero was an adviser of the Transport and Telecommunications Department. He is a member of the Academic team of the Judicial Academy in Santiago and a titular member of the Second Instance Account Court of the General Controllership of the Republic of Chile for the period from 2011 - 2014.
