Congratulations to Herrick, Feinstein LLP (New York City, New York, USA) for assiting their client, Nathan Berman and Ronny Bruckner, in the closing on their $205 million joint venture acquisition of 70 Pine Street, a 66-story residential tower in the Financial District. The landmarked skyscraper, also known as the former AIG headquarters building, is the fifth tallest building in New York City and one of the defining features of the downtown skyline.
Mr. Berman and Mr. Bruckner, both longtime clients of the firm, were represented on the deal by Herrick’s Carl Schwartz, Laurie Grasso, Mitchell Bernstein, Nathaniel Lifschitz, Jonathan Dembling and Louis Evans. Herrick is proud to have represented them on a number of significant acquisitions and developments over the years, including office to residential conversions at 63 Wall St., 67 Wall St. and the landmarked 20 Exchange Place. The firm is also representing Mr. Berman on his development of 116 John St.
The acquisition of 70 Pine Street was covered by a number of media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The Real Deal, Crain’s and Bloomberg, the latter two of which highlighted Herrick’s involvement and featured quotes from Carl in their coverage.
