Steven Krone is a member of the Entertainment & New Media and Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Groups at MS&K (Los Angeles, California, USA), and represents entertainment,
media and convergence companies, financial institutions, investors and financiers, and individual creative artists and executives in connection with all aspects of the financing, development, production, acquisition, distribution and other exploitation of motion pictures, television programming, video games, online and other content, and related products and services. Mr. Krone’s legal practice includes intellectual property, copyright, non-copyright protection of ideas, privacy and celebrity publicity rights, defamation, and royalty and participation accounting.
Mr. Krone is also Director of the Donald E. Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute and a Professor of Law at Southwestern Law School. Prior to joining MS&K, Mr. Krone served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Village Roadshow Pictures Entertainment (VRP), a major independent film production company.
Mr. Krone earned his A.B. in Cinema - Television Production from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts and his J.D. from University of Chicago Law School. Upon graduation from law school, he served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Abner J. Mikva of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and to Justices William J. Brennan, Jr. and David H. Souter of the Supreme Court of the United States.
