Kuits IP Team Growing

Manchester, England firm Kuit Steinart Levy LLP has expanded its Intellectual Property team.

Solicitor Claire Meyers has joined the department to expand the Firm’s competition and media practices.  Claire will also deal with the existing mainstream IP work in patents, designs, Trade Mark and Copyright.

The Firm is looking to take advantage of changes in the legal market particularly in the North West and also on a national scale in England, and to enhance its service offering.

Ian Morris, Head of Intellectual Property at Kuits said, “We are in a particularly buoyant phase and with the exit of some of our competitors from the market we are taking the opportunity to broaden and strengthen the service we can give to clients, both old and new.”

The growing department is headed by partners Ian Morris, Colin Hoffman and Damian Bailey.  Ian and Colin will continue to lead the contentious and non-contentious practices respectively, while Damian is to spearhead the Firm’s growing anti-counterfeiting operations for clients seeking increased brand protection.

As part of enhancing the department’s service offering, solicitors within the team, including Elliott Eames and Helen Harmel, are developing additional expertise, particularly in tax applicable to IP and are able to specialise further in specific IP areas.

Ian continued, “The team is well supported by additional assistant solicitors, trainees and paralegals.  In the autumn, our third scientist will join us to add further specialist expertise.”
