Ijdelea & Associates successfully assisted The Carlyle Group on the sale of its ownership share in Mazarine Energy to Edward van Kersbergen.
In what will likely be one of the biggest transactions of 2025 for Romania, the transaction represents the accomplished end of an almost decade-long thriving stewardship by The Carlyle Group of a strategic lynchpin in Romania’s energy sector.
This mandate further expands Ijdelea & Associates’ strong private equity and energy portfolios concerning major projects and transactions.

Mazarine Energy is an upstream oil & gas operator, with extensive experience in the exploration, development, production and optimization of oil and gas resources. In Romania, the company has 28 oil and gas fields.
