One of Thames Valley’s leading commercial law firms, Clarkslegal, has strengthened its Partnership, appointing John Warchus from Shadbolt to head the Technology team and promoting
Chris Tayton, member of the firm’s Dispute Resolution team.
John Warchus will lead Clarkslegal’s technology team, bringing to the firm a wealth of expertise across all aspects of IT, intellectual property and E-business law. As previous head of Shadbolt’s technology law unit, John has developed an increasing high profile across the Thames Valley, independently recognised as a technology law expert in both the Legal Experts and Chambers and Partners directories.
Michael Sippitt, Managing Partner of Clarkslegal, announced the appointment, adding: “We are very fortunate and excited that John has joined the firm. His wealth of knowledge in relation to IT law and the protection of Intellectual Property is second-to-none and he will bring vast experience of advising a range of clients, from start-up to major corporations. John’s profile, expertise and client base will add to the growing success of the firm, as we expand our already highly-respected Company and Commercial team.”
Chris Tayton has developed significant expertise within Clarkslegal’s Dispute Resolution team across a wide range of commercial disputes in recent years. His particular specialisms include IT and software related claims, pension and financial services disputes and claims under the Commercial Agents Regulations. He is also a trained mediation advocate with the ADR Group.
Antony Morris, Clarkslegal’s Head of Dispute Resolution, congratulated Chris on his promotion and highlighted that many of Clarkslegal’s recent successes have resulted from the development of key staff. “We are constantly building our reputation as formidable lawyers in our specialist subjects and enhancing our legal services in terms of both expertise and service delivery. Chris has been a valued member of the Dispute Resolution team for nearly five years and his experience and considerable achievements highlight that our primary advantage stems from our people. The Partners are delighted to now welcome him to the partnership and we wish him every success in this role.”
