Manchester, England-based TAGLaw member Kuit Steinart Levy LLP is delighted to announce the appointment of George MacMillan as Head of Banking and Real Estate Finance. George
joins the firm from Halliwells where he was a Partner and Head of Real Estate Finance. Prior to this, George held a similar role for 10 years with Cobbetts where he spent a total of 20 years. Recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK directories, George brings a wealth of experience to the city centre firm.
This lateral hire represents the first significant move by Kuits to expand its well regarded Real Estate and Finance Team since the onset of the banking crisis. Unlike many of its competitors in the market, Kuits has shed no members of the team during this period. Key to the firm’s determined strategy is a belief in retaining talent and importantly to ensure the firm is best equipped to take advantage of opportunities presented by the anticipated recovery.
The move will see Steve Eccleston hand over the reigns as Kuits Head of Banking in order to focus on his role as Managing Partner of the firm.
George feels that there are tremendous opportunities available to mid market firms like Kuits who can offer a highly responsive specialist service at sensible commercial prices. Increasingly, there is a trend for property companies to seek out such firms to represent their funders.
Executive Partner Robert Levy commented, “We consider it a great coup to have been able to attract someone of George’s calibre to the firm. We have tracked his career from afar and waited for our opportunity to make him an acceptable offer. Our reputation is built on the expertise, commerciality and personality of its people and our long term growth plan dictates that we attract these people into the firm whenever we can. George’s reputation precedes him and we are proud that out of all the firms that he could have chosen, he has chosen to become a Partner at Kuits.”
