Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, rates lawyers based on peer recognition and professional achievement. No more than five percent of lawyers in the Southwest region are selected by Super Lawyers. The Rising Star distinction is awarded to less than 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state who are under 40 or have been in practice 10 years or less.
Each year, the research team undertakes a multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by the attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing and disciplinary check.
