Casner & Edwards announces that it has added attorney Russell J. Smith to the firm’s Trusts & Estates Group as an Associate.
Smith specializes in fiduciary litigation, including probate matters, guardianships, conservatorships, will contests, actions to remove personal representatives and trustees, and complaints in equity. Additionally, he has been appointed by the Probate and Family Court as a fiduciary in contested matters, including as conservator and personal representative. At the request of certain clients, Smith also handles domestic relations matters. Before entering private practice, he served for two years as a law clerk to Probate and Family Court judges in both western and eastern counties of the Commonwealth. Smith’s experience working closely with judges on a wide range of cases informs his advocacy.
Casner & Edwards’ Co-Managing Partner Marc Fitzgerald said, “Russell augments our talented team of trusts and estates attorneys by bringing a broad array of experience. He will be an invaluable addition to our practice groups and we welcome him to the team.”
Smith was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines as a Sergeant. He earned his J.D. from Boston College Law School where he was President of the Veterans’ Association, and B.A. from University of California, Berkeley.
