Manchester based commercial law firm Kuits has further strengthened its Corporate Law team with the appointment of Financial Services Regulatory Solicitor, Amelia Garman.
Amelia will be working alongside Jan Winstanley (Corporate Law Partner at Kuits) to ensure that clients across multiple sectors understand their financial services regulatory exposure and that these risks are managed accordingly.
This is an important area of corporate law as financial services regulations are far reaching yet are often overlooked, perhaps owing to their complexity and a general lack of awareness on how they might apply to different types of firms.
Amelia Garman commented; “I’m very much looking forward to working with clients on these matters. It is important that businesses understand that these regulations are not limited in their application to those firms which are authorised by either the Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority. Reputational damage, large fines and criminal liability for breaches of certain rules should be enough motivation for any business to make sure they are compliant.”
Jan Winstanley said of Amelia’s appointment; “We are delighted to welcome Amelia to the team. Amelia has benefitted from a unique insight into the financial services industry and its governing regulations through time spent at the FCA; advising established industry participants as well as small start-ups.”
Amelia’s appointment comes after another year of excellent growth for Kuits.
