Casner & Edwards announces that Trusts & Estates attorney Katie Von Kohorn has received the 2022 Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC) President’s Award. The Council’s President bestows the President's Award upon individuals who have displayed exceptional service and dedication to BEPC. Established in 2015, the award recognizes individuals who have shown true leadership, volunteerism and an overall commitment to helping BEPC achieve its mission and goals through their outstanding efforts and continued participation in the Council’s activities.
Von Kohorn is a partner at Casner & Edwards and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. An Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designee by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAEPC), she advises individual clients and generations of families with respect to estate planning, including estate and gift taxes, probate law, estate and trust administration, inter-generational planning, planning with digital assets, cryptocurrency and philanthropy. She also serves as trustee of numerous trusts, and works extensively on the investment, tax and legal aspects of trusts, as well as with the varied interests of trust beneficiaries. Von Kohorn counsels trustees and exempt organizations on issues pertaining to tax exemption, fiduciary responsibilities and charitable trust law.
BEPC is a multi-disciplinary community of approximately 700 estate and wealth planning professionals. The Council provides educational programs and networking opportunities to help its members build and strengthen relationships, learn about ideas and strategies, and share thought leadership.
