LEADELL Vītols team of experts has defended the interests of a Latvian company in a dispute with a Belgian undertaking, obtaining a decision to stay the enforcement of ajudgment certified as European Enforcement Order (EEO). As part of the execution of this judgment, a sworn bailiff in Latvia had already proceeded with auctions of the real estate of this company. The Belgian court had gravely infringed the client’s right to a fair trial when issuing the EEO.
Legal assistance for the client was organized simultaneously in both Latvia and Belgium. For this reason, after successfully safeguarding the client’s interests, properties worth almost half a million euros, which are vital for the company’s operation and business, were protected from being sold.
